About

“Even in a simple subject, a great painter can achieve majesty of vision and an intensity of feeling to which we immediately respond.”

Georgio Morandi

I was born and brought up in Scotland having an interest in art from an early age.  I came to Edinburgh in 2001 to study biology but after a year I made the decision to follow my heart and pursue my creative passion ending up on the Foundation Course at Leith School of Art followed by an Honours Degree in Painting and Drawing at Edinburgh College of Art.  After graduating from Art College my wife and I spent a year overseas serving with a Christian charity travelling to South America, Africa, and the Balkans.  Since coming back to Scotland in 2007 I have been working part time and practicing art part time. Last year I returned to Leith School of Art as a student on the Drawing Course which reinvigorated my art work and my enthusiasm for drawing and painting.

My latest body or work focuses on the study of still life and the figure, seeking to explore the profound qualities that exist in everday life.  My belief that I am made in the image of a creator God strongly informs both my work and use of materials.
